Buenos Aires, December 7 (NA) — The animal liberation movement Voicot expressed its repudiation over the transfer of dolphins from the Mar del Plata Aquarium to another captivity center located in Egypt. The organization denounced that the animals were sent "from a situation of confinement, exploitation, and captivity to another." According to the Argentine News Agency, Voicot used its social networks to question the decision, pointing to the Aquarium, run by Eduardo Albor Villanueva (CEO of The Dolphin Company), of carrying out "another of its great business deals." The Accusation: The environmental collective warned that The Dolphin Company is a "mega animal exploitation company that owns 33 dolphinariums, oceanariums, and water parks." Double Standard: Voicot denounced the double standard of these institutions: when animals are requested to be transferred to sanctuaries, "a thousand and one bureaucracies and obstacles" appear, while for business, the animals are "dispatched quickly with absolute ease and complicity from all involved sectors."
